Since 1994 Hi8us has been involved in hundreds of projects across the UK and Europe. Although we work predominantly with hard-to-reach young people, we have also worked with other groups including older people and those with physical and mental disabilities. Description: COMIX is an innovative, creative cultural and professional exchange project that enables a broad range of artists from different disciplines, including visual arts, literature, design, applied arts and cultural heritage, to undertake training from high-profile industry professionals in comic writing and illustration and to then train and support emerging new talent from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds to develop their skills and produce new comic art, in the UK, Greece, Spain and Bulgaria.

Description: The Relationships and SEX DVD is the perfect accompaniment for delivering lessons dealing with sexual health and relationships targeted at young people in secondary education and informal settings. Description: Hi8us is more used to engaging groups of young people in media production. However, when the sponsors of Hello Digital stated that they were keen to widen access to digital media, Hi8us thought it was a perfect opportunity to work with a group of older people for the first time. The idea of making digital stories with older people received a lot of positive responses from groups across Birmingham. This was not surprising, since it is such an accessible process and there are few digital media projects involving older people.

The Hi8us Kahani project has been unearthing the stories of elderly South Asian Women living in Birmingham through our partnership with the UK Asian Woman's Centre in Hockley. We supported the women to turn their tales into digital stories so that they can be shared with a larger audience.

Description: EDRAMA is an interactive role-play tool that combines drama, ICT and education. Drawing on the familiarity of the Internet, EDRAMA provides entertaining and experiential learning for a wide range of users.
EDRAMA provides live virtual role-plays, which can include scenarios ranging from: a school bullying incident; a police officer having to diffuse a difficult situation; or a hotel receptionist having to deal with a difficult customer.

Description: Since 2003 the StripSearch project has identified and nurtured comic illustration talent. Young people receive professional training from award-winning comic artists John McCrea and Hunt Emerson and mentoring from a range of professionals, as well as portfolio development and exhibition support from the Hi8us Midlands team.

Description: In 2007 Hi8us Midlands ran the Boost scheme, a business support programme for new and emerging creative and digital media companies. 40 Young people keen to break into a range of media industries received a raft of support and services.
